Getting clearing points recognised to a point more than just users observing them if they feel like it could go some way to improvement of signal boxes offering trains to each other. At the moment, Out Of Section is given to the box in rear BEFORE the current box is able to accept another train. This means that if you hear the Out Of Section bell from the box in advance, you can't send ILC? straight away because it won't be accepted. You should only send OOS when the line is clear to the clearing point, so in theory an ILC can be received straight away and accepted.
