If a saved area of a layout is shifted beyond its original limits, the save will report an error "Shift would put layout out of limits" and not shift. e.g. Original layout has track from y=450000 to y=10000 and saved area for y is 450000 to 440000, then a shift of y= -100000 on the saved layout will fail.
