Dunbar's New Platform - Progress of Construction
Construction of the new platform at Dunbar started in May 2019 and was opened to passengers on 15 December 2019. Some work continues to be carried out.
Tom Dickson, our Membership Secretary, has undertaken to photograph the progress during construction and RAGES would like to recognise his many visits to the station with his camera to make this record.
Selected images will be shown here with the latest at the top of this web page and captions below each photograph.

The old goods yard where it is believed that the car park will be extended and a new road installed. Once the road is completed the main access road to the station and this new road will form part of a one-way system with the intention that this will facilitate bus services that will be timed to arrive/depart with some of the train services. 13/01/2020

This shows the new pavement behind platform 2 as an access path for the contractors with work on a road alongside. It is expected that this will eventually be a pedestrian access 13/01/2020

Much activity around the bridge today. The lift doors can be seen under the canopy at the top of the tower. The good news is that the vegetation between the tracks is to be removed. (Note that it has been finally treated as shown in the photograph of 04/12/2019) 14/11/2019

Posts for lighting and security cameras are being put into place. Vegetation is really bad, but it is hoped that it will be removed soon. (Note that it has been finally treated as shown in the photograph of 04/12/2019) 08/11/2019
